When the Lord first met Peter, He called him a ROCK. But Peter was anything but a "rock," he was a coward. Of course he didn't stay that
way. Pentecost transformed him into a rock. But before that he was an impetuous one, always talking and thrusting himself ahead of the other disciples Even so, the Lord saw his leadership potential and
chose him to be His apostle to the Jews.On the day Jesus returned in the Spirit to indwell all those who put their trust in Him, Peter's rashness turned into boldness. When he realized the Lord was in him
and ready to use him, he was transformed into a Spirit-filled apostle. Peter became the leader Jesus knew he would be. And just in time. The apostle Paul was creating a dangerous situation. Everywhere he
went he urged the Gentiles to "turn from dead idols and serve the living and true God" (1 Thess. 1:9) |

Peter saw what was coming and wanted to prepare the churches. |
The Gentile population had many gods and didn't mind if Christians wanted to add one more. But when Paul told them there was only one god, that left no
place for their own gods. They saw very quickly how the Jesus faith could destroy every form of pagan religion. When this realization spread, Christians were labeled a dangerous group and persecuted.
On the day Jesus returned in the Spirit to indwell all those who put their trust in Him, Peter's rashness turned into boldness. When he realized the Lord was in him and ready
to use him, he was transformed into a Spirit-filled apostle. Peter became the leader Jesus knew he would be. And just in time. The apostle Paul was creating a dangerous situation.
Everywhere he went he urged the Gentiles to "turn from dead idols and serve the living and true God" (1 Thess. 1:9)
One of the last things Jesus did before His ascension was to instruct Peter. . . "FEED MY SHEEP" (John 21:17). That's what he does in this book.
