“All we have in this world is the Word of God on the outside and the Spirit of God on the inside."

That's because I say it again and again. I don't want those I serve to forget the fact that knowing and loving the Word of God is the key to success in the Christian life. You can sit with The Book in your lap and read for hours, but unless the Holy Spirit is working with your spirit at the same time, you won't get much from your reading. To read words on paper without the Spirit bringing them to life is almost useless.

You are simply reading with the eyes of your head. The meaning behind those words must break forth in your spirit, that is, create scenes in your imagination or you won't get anything from your reading. Many who have been reading the Bible for years often testify they don't understand what they have read.

It is the task of the Holy Spirit to make the Word of God pulsate when we read it, but this doesn't happen automatically. There is something we have to do before the Spirit works in this fashion. And what is that? Learn to read with the EYES OF YOUR HEART. It is the Word that makes Christ real to the believer. And the more real Jesus is, the more glorious is the new life to which we are called. But it does require that we learn to read with the eyes of our hearts.

You need to read with your spirit. You read a verse or two and then reflect on what you have read. A good Bible commentary can help make your mind focus on what is behind the verse you just read. It gets you started reading with the eyes of your heart. It’s great practice.

If you read the passages with the EYES OF YOUR HEART, you’ll find yourself in spirit-to-Spirit communication with the Lord. The communication may seem weak at first, that’s to be expected. It has to grow. In time, you’ll find the Lord becoming more and more real. After a time, you’ll find your troubles bothering you less and the promises of God fortifying you more. Then you’ll be able to cope with practically everything that comes your way.

We worship a God we cannot see, feel or hear. The problem is best defined in the saying: "OUT OF SIGHT, OUT OF MIND!" You know how that is. Unless things are kept before us, our minds quickly go to something else. And this applies to Jesus as well. Why do we have this problem? We live in the age of the Holy Spirit.

Do you know about this age? When Jesus was on earth in a body, there was no way He could transfer His life to others. If you were to take it from Him, it would be murder. For Him to give His life to another, would be suicide. No, the only way for a person to HAVE Jesus' life, is to HAVE Him in their hearts. The apostle John says. . . "AMEN!"

"He that has the Son HAS life and he that has not the Son of God, has NOT life" (1 John 5:12). One must have the Son to have His life. There is no other way.

Here’s the challenge: How can we, who are locked into a physical world, know and enjoy the unseen Lord Who lives inside us? We have to find a way, or we’ll never live the kind of life that pleases him. As long as family and financial problems are more real to us than He is, we’ll be plagued with fears and worries and doubts. But who wants to live like that? No true believer. Jesus wants us to live above those things, but that will never happen until He becomes more real to us than our problems. When He becomes that real, our problems no longer disturb us.

A person can't sit down and say, "I'm going to make Christ real." It takes time to build the reality of Christ in a person's life. If the Bible is a tool that can make Christ real, it follows; a person must spend time in the Word. How much time? You'll laugh at this, but at least FIVE MINUTES A DAY will do it if you read with the eyes of your heart. You see, you can read for days with the eyes of your head and not get much. Why? Christianity is more caught than taught. We catch spiritual things with our hearts.

The Bible is like a magnifying glass through which a man sees far beyond himself. But a man has to look THROUGH IT, not AT IT. Studying a magnifying glass without looking through it, is to miss the thrill. The same is true of the Bible. You can look at the verses and see only words on paper. But if you look THROUGH IT and beyond, the spiritual realm opens up to you. “Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path" (Psalm. 119:105).

You may think 5 MINUTES A DAY is scarcely any time at all. Granted, it may not seem like much to give someone Who has died for you but wait until you try it. On a daily basis, those 5 minutes are hard to come by. Satan is on hand to see that you have other things to do. Actually, it's a fight — but it's worth it.

“Lord Jesus, 5 minutes a day isn’t a lot of time. I really would like to give it to you. If You’ll help me, I’ll try to find a way to do it.”

Don't be in any hurry to read the verses. The main thing is to watch your mind work with the truths and see what's behind the verses. Once you can start reading the Bible with the eyes of your heart, the Word of God will be fun for you. You'll fall in love with it.

Also, the Spirit, who is anxious to make the Word come ALIVE IN YOU, will cause you to fall more in love with Jesus. If you find it hard at first, remember, you are starting with only 5 minutes a day. That’s not much time to invest in...

Question: “I’m 85 years old and have come to agree with you that God doesn’t care whether our bodies are cremated or buried. But I have relatives trying to discourage me since I have elected to have my body cremated. This past week, a sister-in-law asked, ‘what if they had cremated Christ’s body?’ I had no answer. Now I’m coming to you for the answer to that question.”

Answer: I, too, shudder at the thought of Jesus’ body being cremated, but for a different reason that your sister-in-law had in mind. The Scriptures foretold Jesus’ BURIAL. Beyond that, it says, You will not let your Holy One see decay” (Acts 2:27 NIV). Had Jesus’ body been cremated, it would have suffered total corruption. What’s worse, the Scriptures would have been broken.

However, it would not have affected His resurrection. He would have been able to rise AFTER CREMATION, for this is precisely what believers will do who have perished in explosions and flames. They are going to rise, no matter what happens to their bodies.

But here’s what is significant. ALL BODIES OXIDIZE (burn) after death, whether buried or cremated. In a coffin, the process is SLOW. In an oven, the process is FAST. The very same process takes place whether in the ground or in an oven—the only difference is SPEED. A buried body oxidizes slowly, one in an oven oxidizes quickly. Actually, all bodies are cremated in that they all oxidize. This is why the matter is of no concern to God. This is why His Word is so general on the subject:

“By the sweat of your face you shall eat bread, till you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken; for you are dust, and to dust you shall return” (Gen. 3:19 ESV).

Observe that the most direct passage in the Bible does not tell us HOW dead bodies are to be disposed of, only that they WILL return to dust. That is the LAW OF DECAY. From the beginning, two ways have been used for returning bodies to dust; burying them in the ground or reducing them to ashes. Men make a big thing of this, but God’s Word does not.

DEALING WITH THE DEVIL: "This book opened my mind to the influence of Satan in my life. By simply using Bible verses you can quote these against the devil and make him flee! Jesus did this at the end of His 40 day fast. If your struggling with any sin, you can find a Bible verse that goes against that satanic suggestion. Example, a thought of lust comes in your mind and you respond, 'In Jesus’ name leave Satan for it is written consecrate yourselves and be holy because I am holy' and the pressures leave. Overeating 'You shall have no other gods before me' and so on. This book has been a big help to me. Don't get me wrong, the devil is going to continue to fight, but one main weapon for the Christian is the Word of God. Use it like a sword!" –online review by ******2000

NECESSARY RESOURCE: “The book met my expectations and was a wealth of knowledge. Many modern-day Christians do not acknowledge the devil’s existence; therefore they are unable to war effectively with him. This book provided the necessary resources to deal effectively with the devil!” –online review by D. T.

PRACTICAL HELP: “Never have I found the answers so easy to understand. If I had been introduced to your work years ago, my walk with Christ would have been a lot easier and more joyful. I am recommending your books to everyone, especially the new ones in the Lord. Thank you in Jesus’ name!” (Mrs. I.P.—CO).

I wonder what would happen if we treated our Bible like we treat our cell phone?

WHAT if we carried it around in our purses or pockets?

WHAT if we flipped through it several times a day?

WHAT if we turned back to get it if we forgot it?

WHAT if we used it to receive messages from the text?

WHAT if we treated it like we couldn’t live without it?

WHAT if we gave it as gifts?

This is something to make you go . . . ”Where is my Bible?”
